A delegation from Uzbekistan, including representatives of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry and the National Research Institute of Biopharmaceuticals, visited the Republic of Korea. The purpose of the visit was to study the activities of the country's leading research and educational institutions and discuss opportunities for cooperation in biopharmaceuticals, according to the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry.
Uzbek specialists were introduced to the work of the GMP laboratories of the Korea National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training. Particular attention was paid to areas related to CAR-T cell therapy and biopharmaceuticals.
The delegation also visited the Biopharma AX laboratory, where they examined its GMP infrastructure designed for the production of biotechnological drugs and monoclonal antibodies.
A significant portion of the program was devoted to personnel training and scientific research. The delegates were introduced to the training infrastructure of the Global Training Hub for Biomanufacturing, which specializes in microbial biopharmaceutical processes. They also visited the laboratories of Yonsei University College of Medicine, where animal-based research is conducted.
During the visit, meetings were held with scientists, professors, and leading industry experts. The parties discussed current issues related to personnel training, taking into account the modern requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, developing practical skills, and implementing advanced Korean practices in Uzbekistan.
Following the meetings, key areas for further cooperation were identified. These include the implementation of joint research projects, the exchange of scientists and specialists, and the improvement of personnel training for the biopharmaceutical industry based on international experience.
