Uzbekistan has begun preparations for its chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which it will assume in 2027. Uzbekistan has begun preparatory activities ahead of its chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), scheduled for 2027.
As part of these preparations, CIS First Deputy Secretary General Igor Petrishenko met with Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Belarus Nuriddin Mamajonov in Minsk.
The participants in the dialogue discussed key vectors of Uzbekistan's upcoming chairmanship, as well as ways to further develop integration processes and implement previously reached agreements.
Particular attention was paid to identifying priority areas for Uzbekistan's participation in multilateral cooperation and prospects for integrating national proposals into the overall agenda of the Commonwealth.
Furthermore, a number of organizational aspects related to Uzbekistan's preparation for the CIS chairmanship were discussed during the meeting.
