The Tax Committee announced that, as of June 1, catering establishments will receive a 40% refund on VAT paid, regardless of the proportion of non-cash revenue.

Starting June 1, 2026, catering businesses in Uzbekistan will be entitled to a 40 percent refund of the value-added tax paid. This rule applies regardless of the share of non-cash receipts in their total revenue, according to the Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the agency's explanation, adjustments to the partial VAT refund procedure were made to reduce the tax burden on businesses and encourage entrepreneurs to fully declare their income from services provided.
According to the committee, over 30 billion soums in VAT were refunded to catering businesses in June-July of this year. This figure is 75 percent higher than the refunds received in April-May. The committee emphasized that this initiative allows businesses to retain a portion of their funds, which can be used for development, creating new jobs, and improving service quality.
