Uzbekistan has banned cash payments for goods over 400 BRV.

A presidential decree has entered into force in Uzbekistan, requiring that, starting August 28, payments for goods and services exceeding 400 basic calculation units (BCUs) must be made exclusively by non-cash means—via bank cards or electronic payment systems.
Previously, a 25 million soum limit was in effect, scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2026, prohibiting cash payments for goods and services above this amount. The new decree sets the threshold at 400 BCUs.
Starting September 1, 2026, the BCU will increase from 412,000 to 440,000 soums. Consequently, 400 BCUs will be equivalent to 176 million soums.
Goods and services that must be paid for by bank cards or electronic payment systems include:
* Government services.
* Electricity, natural gas, and drinking water (excluding payments through bank tellers).
* Alcohol and tobacco products.
* Sales of oil and gas products to the public through gas stations and electric vehicle charging services.
* Goods and services valued over 400 BRV, excluding agricultural products.
* Purchase and sale transactions involving real estate, vehicles of categories M, N, O, and G manufactured no more than 10 years ago, and special-purpose vehicles.
