Uzbekistan is showing interest in expanding business ties with Syria. Uzbekistan has expressed interest in developing business relations with Syria, as evidenced by the upcoming participation of Uzbek companies in the 63rd Damascus International Fair. This major event, which begins on August 26 in Damascus, will bring together approximately 1,000 companies and organizations from approximately 60 countries.
The decision to allow Uzbek businesses to participate in the fair was made following official negotiations held in December 2025. At that time, Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Ayubkhon Yunusov, Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Kuwait, visited Damascus, where they met with the leadership of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce.
During these meetings, Uzbek entrepreneurs were invited to participate in the 63rd Damascus International Fair.
Therefore, the presence of Uzbek representatives at this event is seen as an important initial step in establishing new trade and economic ties with Syria and exploring the prospects for Uzbek businesses to enter the Syrian market.
