Uzbekistan condemned the drone attack targeted at the city of Mecca

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan strongly condemned the attempted attack using an unmanned aerial vehicle directed at the holy city of Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This was announced in a statement by the MFA.

"We express our full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and consider any actions that threaten holy sites, civilians, and civilian infrastructure unacceptable.

We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, strictly adhere to the norms of international law, and respect the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of states," the official statement says.

Support was expressed for efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, preventing the expansion of the conflict, and ensuring peace, security, and stability in the region.

Earlier, the Saudi side issued a statement that the Houthi group in Yemen had launched a drone toward the city of Mecca.
