In the first half of 2026, banks of Uzbekistan allocated a total of 115.9 billion soums in preferential student loans to 8,946 students.

Commercial banks of Uzbekistan provided a total of 115.9 billion soums in preferential educational loans to students in the first half of 2026. These loans were utilized by 8,946 students. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Among the borrowers, 1,848 received interest-bearing loans, while 7,098 received interest-free loans.
The largest share of the allocated funds — 89.4 billion soums, or 77.1 percent of the total volume — was accounted for by interest-free loans granted to female students. Banks allocated 26.6 billion soums for interest-bearing loans.
According to the ministry, the largest amount of educational loans was provided by Xalq Bank, which allocated 42.4 billion soums in loans to 3,386 students. Agrobank provided 21.4 billion soums in loans to 1,726 students, while Biznesni Rivojlantirish Bank provided 14.9 billion soums to 1,296 students.
Uzpromstroybank allocated 12.6 billion soums to 678 borrowers, NBU allocated 10.1 billion soums to 862 borrowers, and Hamkorbank allocated 6.1 billion soums to 385 borrowers.
Asakabank, Aloqabank, Turonbank, Orient Finans Bank, and Mikrokreditbank each allocated funds ranging from 349 million soums to 3.4 billion soums, covering a total of several hundred students through these banks.
