Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to expand economic cooperation
On October 9, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the UK Minister of State for Trade, Lord Anas Sarwar.
During the negotiations, the parties reviewed issues of developing trade, investment partnership, as well as the implementation of new projects in the fields of energy, transport, finance, education, and healthcare.
There are 260 joint ventures with British participation operating in Uzbekistan. In addition, an agreement was reached on preparing a joint "road map" for the further expansion of cooperation.
The British side also declared its readiness to assist in the creation of the Tashkent International Financial Centre, which will operate on the basis of English law.
