Uzbekistan and South Korea discussed a "soft landing" program for IT companies

A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Jamol Maksudov and Executive Director of IT Park Uzbekistan Jakhongir Rajabov, held talks in Seoul with the leadership of the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development (KISED).

The key topic of the meeting was strengthening ties between the technological ecosystems of the two countries and bringing Uzbek and Korean startups to international markets.

The parties discussed the possibility of launching a joint "soft landing" program and exchanging projects. Uzbek IT companies will be able to receive support when entering the South Korean market, while Korean startups will receive support when expanding into the market of Uzbekistan and Central Asia. The program includes consultations, mentorship, B2B meetings, and searching for local partners.

Residents of IT Park Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to participate in Korean international programs, including the K-Startup Grand Challenge, the Global Market Expansion Program, and K-Startup Centers.

In addition, the prospect of holding the Uzbek-Korean Startup Forum in 2027 was considered, as well as organizing mutual business missions with investment sessions and visits to tech companies.

The use of the KISED network to help Uzbek startups establish contacts with Korean venture capital funds, investors, corporations, and other participants in the technological ecosystem was also discussed.

KISED is a government institute under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups of the Republic of Korea. It supports startups at all stages: from training and acceleration to attracting investment and bringing products to the global market.
