Uzbekistan and SOCAR discussed new investment projects

Uzbekistan and SOCAR discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation, implementing joint projects, and new investment initiatives.

On August 27, Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov held an online meeting with Rovshan Najaf, President of Azerbaijan's state oil and gas company SOCAR. During the talks, the parties discussed expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as the progress of joint projects, according to the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Particular attention was paid to the current status of joint projects and the development of new investment proposals.

SOCAR is the state-owned oil and gas company of Azerbaijan, founded in 1992. It employs over 48,000 people and is active in international markets.

In Uzbekistan, the company is participating in a hydrocarbon resource development project with a total investment of approximately $2 billion.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their commitment to continue working together to increase mutual trade and advance strategically important projects.
