Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia will expand investment cooperation
Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia discussed expanding trade, investment, and joint projects in key economic sectors.

Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia intend to expand investment cooperation.
On August 20, Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with Saudi Arabia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Saad Abu Haimed. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to further develop trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
In 2025, mutual trade between the two countries reached $178 million, an increase of 24%. Saudi Arabian investment in Uzbekistan totaled $2.8 billion, a 105% increase compared to the previous period. Currently, 433 enterprises with Saudi capital operate in Uzbekistan.
The meeting participants focused on further increasing and diversifying trade turnover, as well as developing business ties. In particular, they discussed the organization of mutual business missions and exhibitions.
Particular attention was paid to promoting joint projects in areas such as energy, digital technologies, transport, the financial sector, healthcare, and education.
Following the talks, it was proposed to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Riyadh in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Furthermore, the parties discussed issues related to the organization of Uzbekistan's pavilion at the EXPO 2030 international exhibition, which will be held in Saudi Arabia.
