Uzbekistan and Serbia discussed new areas of cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, IT, and light industry.
**New directions of Uzbekistan and Serbia business cooperation discussed**
Representatives of Uzbekistan and Serbia reviewed issues of expanding trade and investment cooperation and developing direct contacts between companies of the two countries. The negotiations took place on the eve of the President of Uzbekistan's visit to Serbia. This was reported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
Jamil Maksudi, Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, held a series of meetings with representatives of Serbian business structures and companies. One of the most important of these was held with Mihailo Vesović, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, and the head of the chamber's international cooperation department.
The meeting participants discussed opportunities for activating the activities of the "Uzbekistan — Serbia" Business Council and expanding direct cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries. Special attention was paid to the preparation and implementation of joint investment projects.
Projects in the field of agriculture, including meat production, were mentioned as one of the promising areas of cooperation. The parties also discussed trade conditions and tariff regulation, as well as opportunities for more effective use of GSP+ benefits.
Prospects for investment cooperation were also reviewed in the areas of information and communication technologies and light industry.
Within the framework of the visit, negotiations were held with representatives of Serbian companies operating in the agro-industrial complex and other sectors of the economy. During the conversation, expanding trade and investment ties, exchanging scientific and technical experience, and potential joint projects were discussed. In this regard, attention was also focused on projects aimed at agricultural clusters in Uzbekistan.
Viktor Ribić, the representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in Serbia, participated in organizing the meetings.
The parties expressed interest in further developing business relations and increasing the number of joint projects. The continuation of negotiations is expected to create additional opportunities for expanding mutual trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
