Uzbekistan and Serbia discussed cooperation in the mining sector
Uzbekistan and Serbia reviewed prospects for expanding cooperation in the mining industry, including the production of specialized equipment, the introduction of advanced technologies, and the development of industrial cooperation.
These issues were raised on September 7, 2026, in Belgrade during the first meeting of the Uzbek-Serbian Intergovernmental Commission. The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology, F. Khamidova.
As part of the event, representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia.
The parties paid special attention to cooperation with the company GOSA FOM, which specializes in the production of equipment and machinery for the mining, metallurgical, and energy industries.
The negotiators discussed opportunities for expanding the production of specialized equipment for the mining industry, as well as the introduction of modern technologies. The development of industrial cooperation and the strengthening of the material and technical base of the industry were also named among the priorities.
The talks held were part of the efforts to develop cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia in the mining sector.
