Uzbekistan and Pakistan to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence

Uzbekistan and Pakistan intend to deepen cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.

The parties reached an agreement to expand cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, information technology, digital services exports, startups, and investment.

Future partnership issues were discussed during a meeting between Uzbek Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and representatives of IT Park with Pakistani Minister of State Bilal bin Saqib. Agriculture, healthcare, and education were identified as key areas for joint technology initiatives.

The participants also focused on attracting Pakistani IT companies to Uzbekistan, providing them with the opportunity to enter Central Asian and CIS markets through the country. The discussion also focused on creating joint startups, strengthening ties with venture capital funds, and the participation of specialists from both countries in international projects.

The Pakistani delegation was presented with the Zero Risk program, which includes the provision of office space and equipment, assistance with personnel training, reimbursement of costs for certain international IT certifications, and tax incentives.

Uzbekistan plans to join the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards development group. Promising areas of cooperation also include IT, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
