Uzbekistan and Malaysia expand cooperation in the agricultural sector

Representatives of Uzbekistan and Malaysia discussed cooperation in food security, agriculture, the oil and fat industry, and innovation.

Uzbekistan and Malaysia are strengthening their partnership in the agro-industrial sector.

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Kahramon Yuldashev, Malaysia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Rafidah Abdul Aziz, Director General of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Belvender Sron, and other members of the Malaysian delegation.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, the parties discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in food security, agriculture, and the implementation of advanced technologies.

During the talks, issues related to developing cooperation in the agricultural sector, ensuring food security, developing the oil and fat industry, expanding scientific cooperation, and implementing joint investment projects were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to studying international best practices, developing the processing industry, expanding value chains, and strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships in promising areas.

The meeting took place as part of the international forum "Food Safety & Innovation: Palm Oil Solutions for Central Asia," currently underway in Tashkent.
