Uzbekistan's Ministry of Agriculture and the Alliance for Commercialization and Innovation Research (ACIR) convened to discuss advancements in agricultural innovation.

Ibrohim Abdurahmonov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Agriculture, met with Erik Azulay, the founder of the U.S.-based ACIR and a member of Uzbekistan's International Expert Council. Their discussions centered on fostering collaboration in agricultural innovation, bringing scientific breakthroughs to market, and drawing investment into the sector.

Key points of the conversation included bolstering innovation within agriculture, implementing scientific research findings, and increasing project funding avenues via international grant programs. A significant topic was the Ministry of Agriculture's increased involvement in projects under the World Bank-financed MUNIS 2 program.

The participants also explored establishing structured educational initiatives for scientists, researchers, and agribusiness professionals. These programs are slated to cover preparing international grant applications, crafting commercialization strategies for scientific projects, conducting market research, and addressing intellectual property protection.

Furthermore, the parties addressed cultivating an innovation ecosystem in agriculture. This encompasses incubating agritech startups and scientific advancements, expanding grant opportunities, bringing promising projects to market, and adapting global best practices to Uzbekistan's specific context.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to further cooperation in commercializing innovation, integrating scientific developments into agriculture, and executing joint educational, consulting, and innovation projects with ACIR's involvement.
