Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Boost Cooperation in the Pharmaceutical Industry
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are expanding interagency cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.
A delegation from the Center for Pharmaceutical Product Safety of Uzbekistan is on a working visit to Kazakhstan, where it is learning about the experience of the national regulator and discussing the development of professional contacts.
The visit takes place within the framework of a memorandum of understanding and cooperation signed between Uzbekistan's Center for Pharmaceutical Product Safety and Kazakhstan's National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices.
During meetings in Astana and Almaty, representatives of the two countries are exchanging practices in the field of state registration of medicines, licensing, pharmacovigilance, post-registration control, pharmaceutical inspections, and laboratory testing.
Special attention is paid to Kazakhstan's experience in achieving Maturity Level 3 (ML3) for its national regulatory system under the World Health Organization classification. The parties are studying international assessment criteria and the possibilities of implementing advanced regulatory practices in Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek delegation will also get acquainted with the work of the testing center of the National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices in Almaty, which has passed WHO prequalification.
The program includes studying the laboratory's quality management system, its operation according to international standards, and its experience in undergoing the prequalification procedure.
The exchange of experience is aimed at strengthening the capacity of national regulators, improving laboratory activities, and increasing the effectiveness of pharmaceutical product safety control.
