Uzbekistan and Iran discussed cooperation in tourism

Uzbekistan and Iran held talks on developing cooperation in the tourism sector.
A meeting between First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bahromjon Aloev and Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Seyed Reza Salehi-Amiri took place on August 18 in Tehran.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed the current state and potential for expanding cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Representatives of the two countries exchanged views on the preservation and promotion of the shared historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and Iran.
Particular attention was paid to stimulating tourism exchanges and deepening cooperation between the relevant agencies of both countries.
The implementation of joint projects in culture and tourism was also discussed, with the parties expressing mutual interest in further expanding practical cooperation.
Following the meeting, Uzbekistan and Iran reached an agreement to intensify contacts between the relevant agencies.
