Uzbekistan and India to expand tourism cooperation

Uzbekistan and India intend to deepen their partnership in the tourism sector. According to the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the countries have signed a Tourism Cooperation Program for the period 2026-2028. The document was signed following high-level talks attended by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

This Program aims to increase tourism exchange between the two countries, strengthen cooperation in tourism, and launch new joint initiatives.

As part of the agreements reached, it is planned to organize reciprocal cultural weeks, film festivals, and other large-scale tourism-focused events. The parties also intend to develop and implement new joint tourist routes.

Particular importance is attached to the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of both countries. This innovation is expected to stimulate tourism growth, increase the number of mutual trips, and facilitate the further development of cooperation in tourism.
