Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a transition to a new stage of strategic partnership: the goal is $5 billion in trade turnover and 30 days of visa-free travel.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that relations between Uzbekistan and India have reached a qualitatively new level, becoming a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Following talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the head of state emphasized that the discussions demonstrated the high level of mutual trust, respect, and friendship between the two countries.

Mirziyoyev noted that last year, bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and India increased by 33%, exceeding $1.3 billion. The parties set an ambitious goal of increasing this figure to $5 billion by 2030.

To effectively implement the agreements reached, a special interaction mechanism will be created at the level of foreign ministers. It is also planned to intensify the work of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council.

The parties intend to focus on cooperation in key areas such as energy, critical minerals, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, electronics, jewelry, and agriculture.

Mirziyoyev also emphasized the importance of further cooperation between the two countries within the UN, SCO, Non-Aligned Movement, BRICS, and other international platforms.

Significant attention was paid during the talks to developing humanitarian and tourism ties. Uzbekistan and India plan to organize mutual cultural weeks, film festivals, and other events, as well as launch new joint tourist routes.

The President emphasized that the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime will significantly increase travel between the countries.

To ensure the full and timely implementation of the adopted documents and agreements reached, the parties will develop a comprehensive roadmap.
