The leaders of Uzbekistan and India summed up the results of the negotiations.

At a meeting with representatives of the media, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi expressed their views on the results of the negotiations.

The Head of State emphasized the great importance of the historic visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Uzbekistan. The leader of Uzbekistan noted that these fruitful negotiations were another vivid expression of the sincere friendship, high respect and mutual trust between the two countries.

India was recognized as a reliable and potential strategic partner with great prestige and influence on the global stage. India's great achievements in the field of digital technologies, software and startups were highly appreciated.

Therefore, serious preparations were made for the visit, a significant package of documents was adopted, including a joint statement, and a number of intergovernmental agreements were signed. It was noted with great satisfaction that bilateral relations have reached the stage of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The main focus was on economic issues. Last year, the volume of mutual trade turnover increased by 33 percent and amounted to $ 1.3 billion. A plan was set to increase this figure to $ 5 billion by 2030.

A portfolio of important joint investment projects was developed during the visit. Specific agreements were reached with a number of large Indian companies. During the talks, it was reported that new “growth points” were identified to strengthen cooperation in the fields of energy, rare minerals, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, electronics, mechanical engineering, jewelry and agriculture.

The importance of continuing mutual support in international and regional arenas, including within the framework of cooperation with the UN, SCO, Non-Aligned Movement, BRICS and the countries of the Global South, was emphasized.

Speaking about cultural and humanitarian ties, it was noted that 4 Indian universities operate in the country, as well as the effective functioning of the Lal Bahadur Shastri and Mahatma Gandhi centers. It was also noted that the 30-day visa-free regime and 14 flights per week will greatly contribute to the development of tourism.

At the end of his speech, the Head of State expressed gratitude to his Indian counterpart and all participants, noting that a comprehensive "road map" would be developed to ensure the full implementation of the agreements reached.
