Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discussed new projects
On August 19, the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was held in Tashkent. The negotiations were chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov and Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations and the prospects for their development within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance. Particular attention was paid to strengthening political dialogue and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
The agenda of the negotiations also included the issue of preparing for future high-level events. Representatives of the two countries also considered the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
Transport and logistics, energy, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation were identified as priority areas.
The parties stressed the need to bring practical cooperation to a qualitatively new level. In particular, the issues of promoting new joint industrial projects and more fully utilizing the existing potential to further increase bilateral trade were discussed.
The participants of the negotiations also noted the prospects for intensifying cooperation in the fields of healthcare and culture.
In addition, representatives of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan exchanged views on topical issues of mutual interest on the regional and international agenda.
