Uzbekistan products may be sold in Pakistan's major retail chain

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev held a meeting with Muhammad Anis, Chief Executive Officer of Al-Fatah, one of Pakistan's major retail chains.

During the conversation, issues of supplying confectionery products, dried fruits, nuts, fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, canned goods, jams, tomato paste, honey, vegetable oil, and processed meat products manufactured in Uzbekistan to the Pakistani market were discussed.

The management of Al-Fatah expressed interest in dried fruits, nuts, agricultural, and confectionery products grown and manufactured in Uzbekistan. It was also noted that ceramic items made in the national style could also be in demand on the Pakistani market.

The parties agreed to explore opportunities for direct deliveries of ready-made products manufactured in Uzbekistan with export potential to the retail chain. In addition, the possibility of implementing a project for packaging dried fruits, nuts, legumes, and other food products under the Al-Fatah brand at Uzbekistan enterprises was also considered.

According to Company CEO Muhammad Anis, one of the promising areas of cooperation is the organization of special "Made in Uzbekistan" sales departments in major outlets in Lahore, Islamabad, and in the future, other cities of Pakistan.

It was proposed to launch a pilot project initially covering several product types and to gradually expand the product range and the number of retail outlets based on the analysis of sales results and consumer demand.

The meeting also discussed the issue of exporting halal sausages and other processed meat products manufactured in Uzbekistan to Pakistan. The proposal to explore the possibilities of trial sales of these products in the Al-Fatah chain was supported, subject to compliance with import, sanitary, and halal certification requirements.

For reference, Al-Fatah, founded in 1941, is one of Pakistan's major retail chains. In addition to food products, the company sells household appliances, cosmetics, toys, travel items, and other consumer goods.

Currently, the company has 35 retail outlets in major cities of Pakistan and 11 stores operating on a franchise basis.
