Uzbek Institute of Standards granted new powers
The charter of the institute and the rules for training specialists in the field of technical regulation, standardization, and metrology have been approved. The documents were adopted as part of the reform of the national quality system and the transition to international standards.

Uzbek Institute of Standards vested with new powers
By Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 472 dated September 7, 2026, "On additional measures to improve legislation in the field of technical regulation," additional measures have been adopted to improve legislation in this area.
As a reminder, in accordance with Decree No. UP-25 dated February 16, 2026, the ineffective control system in the field of technical regulation, metrology, and conformity assessment was abolished, and market product control is being introduced.
In addition, a complete transition is being made to the application of international standards in industry and to the independent operation of participants in the national quality infrastructure.
At the same time, the Uzbek Institute of Standards has been reorganized by merging the Uzbek Center for Scientific Testing and Quality Control into it.
