Uzbek fencing legend and former NOC chairman Sobir Ruziyev dies

Sabir Roziev won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the world championships

Sobir Ruziyev, a legendary representative of Uzbek fencing and former chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, has died at the age of 73.

A silver medalist at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Sobir Ruziyev also successfully participated in world championships, winning 2 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medals. He was also awarded the honorary title of "Honored Athlete of the Republic of Uzbekistan."
