US will stop providing financial aid to Israel - Trump

The US will stop providing aid to Israel at the end of 2026, because the country no longer needs this assistance and is capable of purchasing weapons independently.

"We have been giving them $4 billion - we are still giving it now - but by the end of the year, these payments will stop," he said.

According to the US leader, this assistance included "goods and monetary funds."

Trump emphasized that he had discussed the issue of stopping this aid with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for several years. According to him, Netanyahu himself raised this issue.

"They don't need it. Israel is a very prosperous country," Trump said.

Answering a question about the need to review financial relations between the countries, Netanyahu emphasized that the annual $3.8 billion in US aid to Israel "should be phased out." According to him, this process can begin "right now," without waiting for a change in the composition of the US Congress.

In March 2025, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Donald Trump's administration had approved the delivery of approximately $12 billion worth of military equipment to Israel since he took office as US president on January 20.
