In the US, the start of Green Card DV-2027 registration has been postponed again
The start date for the Green Card DV-2027 lottery registration remains undetermined. A US Court of Appeals has stayed the decision that required the Department of State to open the application process before November 1, 2026. A new date has not yet been named.
The uncertainty is linked to ongoing litigation. The law firm Red Eagle Law sought an early start to the registration process for program participants.
The court of first instance supported the plaintiffs and ordered the US authorities to set a start date for accepting applications. However, the Department of State appealed this decision.
The appellate court granted the government's motion and stayed the previous ruling. As a result, the November 1 deadline is no longer in effect.
At the same time, the DV-2027 program has not been canceled. Further registration deadlines will depend on the progress of the legal proceedings.
Potential participants are advised to follow updates on the official website of the US Department of State — travel.state.gov. In addition, one should not trust intermediaries who promise to register participants before the official announcement of the dates.
