In the US, 455 out of 775 private billion-dollar startups studied were founded or co-founded by immigrants. India leads by country of origin: entrepreneurs from this country participated in the creation of 96 such companies.

Naked Science reported on this, citing a study by the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP) published in the summer of 2026.
The study analyzed private American startups valued at at least one billion dollars. 59 percent of them were founded or co-founded by immigrants. When the children of immigrants are also taken into account, this figure rises to nearly 66 percent.
India is followed by Israel and the United Kingdom.
After 96 companies co-founded by entrepreneurs from India, Israel ranks second with 60 companies. The United Kingdom occupies the next positions with 47 companies, and China with 41 companies.
