The number of billionaires worldwide reached an unprecedented level in 2025, reaching 3,795, an 8.2% increase over the previous year. In Russia, this figure increased by 18%, reaching 151.
Russia ranked fourth in the world in terms of the number of billionaires. The United States is in first place, where almost a third of the world's billionaires live - 1,265. In 2024, the number of billionaires in the United States increased by 11.5%. China took second place with 363 billionaires (+13.1%), and Germany came in third with 221 billionaires (+20.1%). Germany also showed the highest growth rate among the 15 countries. India ranked fifth with 132 billionaires (+3.9%).
The total wealth of billionaires increased by 12.8% to a record $15.1 trillion. The 29 richest people on the planet account for 27% of the total billionaire wealth, up from 7% in 2017. Analysts have cited a significant increase in investment in artificial intelligence as one of the main reasons for this year's growth.
