Ukraine to share battlefield data with Britain
Ukraine and the UK have signed an agreement to cooperate on the use of artificial intelligence for military purposes. According to it, Kiev will provide London with millions of battlefield videos collected during the war against Russian aggression. The data will be used to train artificial intelligence systems and develop technologies to protect military facilities, airports, railway networks and power plants from drones.

Following a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Kiev on August 24, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced that Ukraine and Britain had signed a cooperation agreement on the use of artificial intelligence for military purposes.
The agreement will allow Britain to use the materials collected by Ukraine in the process of repelling Russian attacks to develop artificial intelligence technologies.
According to the British Prime Minister, the partnership will combine Ukraine's "unparalleled combat experience" with the UK's "world-class artificial intelligence ecosystem."
The data collected during the military operations in Ukraine will be tested in Britain. It is planned to use it to improve systems for protecting critical facilities such as military bases, airports, railway networks, power plants and prisons from drones.
As part of the partnership, Kiev will provide London with millions of videos from the battlefield.
This data set, known as “Avenger”, is currently being used to train artificial intelligence systems designed to control Ukraine’s autonomous drones.
The British side has assessed this data as an extremely valuable resource for adapting artificial intelligence to military conditions.
Videos taken on the battlefield can allow artificial intelligence models to be trained to detect drones, military equipment, moving targets and various threats in real conditions.
In exchange for the data provided by Ukraine, the UK will provide Kiev with additional support in the field of technology.
It is planned to use the capabilities of British universities, scientists and technology companies, as well as involve the country’s artificial intelligence ecosystem in cooperation with Ukraine.
Byrnem said that cooperation not only strengthens national security capabilities, but also allows for better protection of critical infrastructure and faster development of technologies that serve economic growth.
