Uklon recognized as holding a dominant position in the taxi services market

The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights has recognized Uklon UB as an operator of a digital platform with a dominant position in the taxi services market.

It is noted that this decision was made based on the results of an analysis of the market for intermediary (aggregator) services that allow placing orders for passenger transportation and providing taxi services.

Now, in accordance with the requirements of competition legislation, an antimonopoly compliance system will be mandatorily introduced in the company's activities to prevent cases of abuse of its dominant position.

It was also announced that the Competition Committee will conduct continuous monitoring of the platform's activities in accordance with the established procedure.

For information, a dominant position is a situation in a commodity or financial market that gives a business entity or group of persons the ability to operate independently of competing business entities and exert a decisive influence on the state of competition, complicate the access of other business entities to the relevant market, or otherwise restrict the freedom of their economic activity. A dominant position in a commodity or financial market is recognized if the market share of a company or group of persons is 40% or higher, as well as in other cases.

As a reminder, Uklon is a Ukrainian product-based IT company. It has been operating in Uzbekistan since June 2023.

According to the company, service users in Tashkent completed more than 15 million trips in 2025.
