The Competition Committee sent an inquiry to Wb Taxi regarding consumer complaints

The Competition Committee has sent an inquiry to Wb Taxi LLC regarding the protection of consumer rights in taxi services.

It is noted that recently, the number of appeals received by the committee and consumer complaints on social networks regarding taxi services has increased.

In particular, between January and August 2026, nearly 20 complaints were made regarding the activities of Wb Taxi.

They noted that ordered taxis do not arrive at the designated destination, it is impossible to reconnect with the drivers, and the operator does not take action in such situations.

During the committee's investigations, it was found that the company does not sufficiently comply with the laws "On Protection of Consumer Rights" and "On Electronic Commerce," as well as a number of requirements related to the operation of digital platforms.

Following this, the Competition Committee sent an inquiry to Wb Taxi LLC to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, as well as to take measures to create opportunities for passengers to reconnect with the service provider and obtain information.

For reference, between January and August 2026, 242 taxi aggregators were integrated with the information systems of the tax authorities. During this period, 329 million passengers were transported, and the transportation turnover exceeded 7.2 trillion soums.

According to the Tax Committee, as of September 1, 2026, the total number of self-employed citizens transporting passengers stands at 782.5 thousand.

The number of those who operated through aggregators from January 1 to September 1 of this year amounted to 481,117.
