Two female citizens of a neighboring state attempted to smuggle $240,000 out of Uzbekistan by hiding the cash under their clothes and securing it to their shins with adhesive tape.

The women were detained at the "Navoi" border customs post in the Tashkent region, the press service of the Customs Committee reported.

During the customs inspection, $80,000 was found on one of the detainees, and $160,000 on the other. The banknotes were taped to their shin area and hidden under their clothes.

Customs officers discovered the hidden cash during a passenger screening. Video footage released by the committee shows bundles of banknotes, packed into bricks, being removed from the women's legs.

In total, the detected cash currency amounted to $240,000.
