Trinasolar supplied 184 thousand modules for the Sarimay SPP

A 126 MW solar power plant in the Khorezm region has been fully commissioned and is supplying energy to the unified power grid.

Trinasolar announced the delivery of 184,328 Vertex N 695W solar modules for the 126 MW Sarimay SPP in the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan. The power plant is already fully commissioned and supplies electricity from renewable sources to the country's unified power grid.

The construction of the Sarimay SPP started in May 2024. The plant generated its first megawatt-hours in November 2025, even before the full completion of commissioning works.

To connect the facility to the national power grid, a three-kilometer-long power transmission line was built. It ensures the transmission of the generated electricity to JSC "National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan".

The area of the Sarimay SPP is about 180 hectares. The plant is expected to produce about 252 GWh of electricity annually, which is enough for the consumption of approximately 60 thousand residents. According to the company's estimate, the operation of the facility will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 140 thousand tons each year.

Trinasolar Vertex N NEG21C.20 modules with a capacity of 695 W are installed at the plant. They use n-type solar cells based on i-TOPCon technology, as well as a bifacial design that allows electricity generation by both sides of the module.

As Trinasolar notes, the parameters of the modules are designed to operate in a dry continental climate, including high summer temperatures, significant seasonal fluctuations, and exposure to sand and dust. A low temperature coefficient reduces power loss during heating, while resistance to sand and potential-induced degradation helps extend the equipment's lifespan.

The power output of the modules is covered by a 30-year warranty. The Sarimay SPP project is designed for 25 years of operation.

"The Sarimay project shows how Uzbekistan's plans for the development of renewable energy are turning into operating facilities," said Elva Wang, Head of Trinasolar's Southeast, South, and Central Asia group.

According to her, the high capacity of the modules, bifacial generation, and long-term reliability of the equipment should ensure the stable operation of the plant.

Uzbekistan intends to increase the share of renewable sources in electricity generation to 40% by 2030. The Sarimay SPP is among the active projects within the framework of the country's solar and wind energy development.
