In the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent, traffic has been temporarily restricted on Glinka Street. The reason was damage to the road surface — according to eyewitnesses, a sinkhole formed on the roadway after a loud bang.

The capital's khokimiyat (city administration) has taken the situation under special control. Relevant services and specialists are working on-site to determine the causes of the incident, eliminate the consequences, and carry out restoration work on the damaged section.

Eyewitnesses suggested that the incident could be related to damage to a heating main. In response, Veolia Energy Tashkent reported that an emergency recovery crew and company specialists promptly arrived at the scene. They are establishing the circumstances and causes of the incident. At the same time, no leaks have been recorded at the moment.

As a result of the incident, one person sustained minor physical injuries. They were provided with timely medical assistance.

Drivers are asked to take the closure into account when planning their routes and, if possible, to choose alternative paths.

All circumstances of the incident are being established. The khokimiyat stated that the public will be kept informed about the situation and the measures being taken as verified and confirmed information becomes available.
