Tomsk Region and Bukhara Discuss Potential Joint Projects
On August 27, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Tomsk Region held a working meeting dedicated to prospects for cooperation with Uzbekistan. The meeting discussed strengthening trade, economic, humanitarian, and cultural ties, as well as the possibility of implementing joint initiatives, according to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Tomsk Region.
The meeting was chaired by Khamro Choriev, representing trade union organizations in Bukhara. Alexey Stukanov, Head of the Department of International and Regional Relations of the Tomsk Region Government, also participated in the event, emphasizing the region's interest in further deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan.
During the talks, Choriev presented the potential of the Bukhara Special Industrial Park and invited Tomsk entrepreneurs to consider locating production facilities there.
One of the proposed areas of cooperation was the organization of on-site business missions for companies and organizations from the Tomsk Region. It is expected that this format will facilitate the establishment of direct business contacts between business representatives from both sides.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed potential collaboration with the Abu Ali ibn Sina Bukhara State Medical Institute. Another area of focus was cooperation with Uzbek fabric manufacturers to meet the needs of light industry enterprises.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to continue working on specific joint projects and further developing business relations between the Tomsk Region and Bukhara.
