"This kind of freedom has not been given in the US yet" - an entrepreneur who has lived in America for 16 years

Nurmuhammad Otakhojayev, a businessman who has lived in the United States for 16 years and founder of the Nexus Line company, announced on August 18 at a meeting of entrepreneurs with the President in the Khorezm region that an Uzbek trading company has been opened in Brazil for the first time.

The businessman began his speech by acknowledging the opportunities being created for entrepreneurs. “Having read the adopted laws, I admit one thing, dear President, I think that such freedom has not yet been granted in the United States of America,” said Nurmuhammad Otakhojayev.

“Last year, when you spoke with compatriots in New York, I also spoke. Then I intended to do two things and promised you. I liked making this promise. Because after making a promise, we work on the promises we made, so we did not sleep day and night,” the businessman noted.

According to Otakhojayev, the company he heads has about 800 employees in Tashkent and more than 3,000 in America. In 2025, the company's dispatchers in Uzbekistan were paid $10.3 million in salaries through the IT park, and from January to August 2026 this amount exceeded $18 million.

"Now, with the team, we are planning to increase the salary paid to the youth of Uzbekistan by $35 million by the end of the year. This, in my opinion, is a four-fold increase in results in one year, the freedoms you have given, the motivation you have given, and my intention has come true. For this, I express my deep gratitude to you, and all of us entrepreneurs are happy," he said.

In addition, he noted that it is time to provide employment to young people in Khorezm and gradually expand to other regions.

“I have seen a lot of changes in the export issue, nowhere else. Recently, dear President, I was in Brazil, with our ambassador Furkat Ahmedovich. We talked there with the ‘Apex’ organization, we were in the presence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, and even the President. For the first time, I opened an Uzbek trading company in Brazil, they signed it and recognize it as a company. ‘Apex’ also recognized this, dear President. God willing, next year we will be able to tell you good results and thank you again,” said Otakhojayev.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that he was very pleased with Nurmuhammad Otakhojayev’s statement that such benefits and conditions for entrepreneurs are not available everywhere.

"If you keep saying this, our businessmen say, 'There is no Muslim who is not a foreigner.' I am happy to see your life as a foreigner, your support for the reforms taking place in our beloved homeland, and as you said, God willing, we will see you next year," the head of state said.
