Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz News Agency.

Nurmuhammad Otakhodjaev, founder of Nexus Holding, who spent 16 years in the US, announced plans to expand his business in Uzbekistan and create jobs in the regions. Speaking to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, he emphasized that in his years of living and working in America, he had never encountered the level of entrepreneurial freedom that, in his words, exists today in Uzbekistan.

"Studying the laws, I come to the conclusion: it seems to me that even the United States of America didn't offer this kind of freedom. Now I'm wondering: maybe I should stay here?" the entrepreneur shared.

The entrepreneur reported that over the past year, his company has significantly strengthened its position in Uzbekistan. While around 300 employees worked in Tashkent a year ago, their number has now reached 800. Nexus Holding's U.S. divisions employ more than 3,000 people.

At the same time, employee payments in Uzbekistan have also increased. According to Otakhodjaev, the company paid $10.3 million to dispatchers through IT Park in 2025, and this amount has exceeded $18 million since the beginning of this year. By the end of 2026, the entrepreneur plans to increase the total amount of payments and tax deductions to more than $35 million.

Otakhodjaev now intends to direct some of his new projects to the regions. Specifically, he expressed his readiness to create jobs for young people in Khorezm and then gradually expand this practice to other regions.

"I won't wait for tomorrow. I'll start work today, provide our youth with jobs in Khorezm, and we'll gradually expand to every region," Otakhodjaev stated.

The businessman placed special emphasis on exports. He recently visited Brazil with the Uzbek ambassador and held talks with representatives of the Brazilian export promotion agency Apex, relevant ministries, and the country's leadership.

Following the talks, Otakhodjaev reported that Uzbekistan's first trading company was opened in Brazil and a corresponding agreement was signed. The entrepreneur hopes to present the results of his work in the new market as early as next year.

Mirziyoyev, in turn, noted that Otakhodjaev's assessment was particularly important given his many years of living and working in the United States.

"I liked when you said that such benefits and conditions don't exist everywhere. It would be good if you told our entrepreneurs about this more often," the president said.

Earlier, entrepreneur Jahongir Artikhodjaev

proposed

to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to involve private businesses in the construction of administrative buildings in New Tashkent. He proposed that private companies would build the buildings at their own expense and then lease them to government agencies on a long-term lease.
