The announcement of the opening of additional classes for grades 1-7 on a paid-contract basis and a preparatory group of a specialized boarding school for foreign languages, newly established within the system of the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions, has caused heated discussions on social networks.

Expert Shokir Tursun asked why paid classes are being opened in a state school if there is space, and not free ones, and if there is no space, where will children who are taught on a contract basis study? Educator and blogger Isroil Tillaboyev mentioned Article 50 of the Constitution in his post and wrote, "It seems that now that we understand and get used to paying for private schools, we will have to pay for public schools as well."

"Daryo" received a comment on this situation from Jahongir Rahmonov, the press secretary of the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions. The official noted that this practice has a legal basis and is based on the rules established in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"This is reflected in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 908 dated December 30, 2024 (intended for use within the framework of the service). The resolution contains relevant clauses on the provision of educational services on a contractual basis," the agency representative said.

He explained that during the summer season, due to the large number of applicants for this school, the call centers worked in a heated mode. Due to the high demand, there was a need to create additional opportunities in addition to the main quota.

According to reports, the prices for classes organized on a contractual basis will be as follows:

* 24,000,000 soums per month for grades 1-4;

* 29,000,000 soums per month for grades 5-11.

These prices have not yet been officially confirmed. The agency's press secretary said that he does not have information about the prices.

"Daryo" called the agency's short numbers and found out that those coming from neighboring districts or regions will have to pay an additional 3 million soums per month to stay in the dormitory. In this case, students will be provided with 5 meals.

On April 25, 2026, at a press conference held by the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions, it was officially announced that a specialized boarding school for foreign languages will be established in Tashkent. The educational system and standards are similar to the programs of the Presidential Schools, based on advanced international experiences (including STEM programs).

The school pays special attention to in-depth teaching of English and Chinese. The main lessons are conducted in the state language, and special subjects are taught based on its own in-depth programs.

The school's main admission processes and exams are held in accordance with the established procedure, and students who successfully pass them begin their studies for free. The newly announced additional classes on a fee-based contract basis are being opened for those who have additional requirements in addition to the main quota.

The acceptance of basic documents for this boarding school for the 2026/2027 academic year was carried out online from June 1 to June 15 for grades 5, 6 and 7 via the websites arizaa.piima.uz and mygov.uz. The entrance exams were held on June 26-27.
