Theft of electricity and gas in Uzbekistan estimated at 825.3 billion soums

In Uzbekistan, 2,795 cases of illegal use of energy resources were identified. The preliminary damage to the state amounted to 825.3 billion soums, Uzenergoinspeksiya reported.

Of this amount, 435.1 billion soums accounted for the illegal use of electricity, and another 390.2 billion soums for natural gas.

In addition, 4,196 administrative protocols were drawn up for violations of energy resource usage rules.

During checks on the quality of petroleum products, specialists identified 308 cases of non-compliance with requirements. As a result, the sale of 7,435 tons of sub-standard products collected at gas stations and enterprises was prevented.

The inspection also recalculated charges for 199 entrepreneurs. Their bills were adjusted by 3 billion 632 million soums for electricity and by 12 billion 84 million soums for natural gas. This allowed for the restoration of consumers' rights.
