The volume of the unobserved economy in Uzbekistan amounted to 245 trillion soums in the first half of the year

In Uzbekistan, the total value added of the unobserved economy for the six months from January to June 2026 reached 245.5 trillion soums.

According to the National Statistics Committee, this figure amounted to 22.9 percent of gross domestic product.

The components of the unobserved economy are as follows:

* Household and individual activities - 165.5 trillion soums, which is 15.4 percent of GDP.

* Hidden economy - 80 trillion soums, which is 7.5 percent of GDP.

In the structure of the volume of household and individual activities and the hidden economy by type of activity, agriculture, forestry and fisheries accounted for 60.5 percent, the services sector for 23 percent, construction for 17.8 percent, and industry for 6.7 percent.

Earlier, it was reported that in January-March 2026, the gross value added of the unobserved economy in Uzbekistan amounted to 102.7 trillion soums.

The share of the unobserved economy in GDP during the reporting period was 22.9 percent, which is formed by the activities of households and individuals, as well as the contribution of the shadow economy.
