At the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026), held in Tashkent, the Uzbekistan national team won four medals.
For the first time in the country's history, all four members of the national team won medals, earning one silver and three bronze medals.
The silver medal was won by Zhokhanali Khaidaraliev, a 9th-grade student at Muhammad al-Khwarizmi School.
Bronze medals were awarded to Timur Kadyrbergenov, an 11th-grader at the Presidential School in Nukus; Ulugbek Rakhmatullaev, an 11th-grader at the Presidential School in Namangan; and Jakhongirshhokh Avazkhonov, a 10th-grader at the same school.
Furthermore, Sardorbek Salimov, a student at the Presidential School in Navoi, was awarded the "Honorary Recognition" award.
This historic success is the result of years of preparation by the students and the efforts of their mentors, as well as the digital education reforms implemented in the country to support talented youth.
The performance of Uzbek schoolchildren at the International Olympiad in Tashkent was one of the most significant achievements of the national computer science team and laid the foundation for the future participation of young programmers from the country in international competitions.
