The Uzbekistan national chess team has suffered its first defeat at the home Olympiad.

The Uzbekistan men's national chess team suffered its first defeat at the World Chess Olympiad, losing to the German team in the 8th round match with a score of 1.5:2.5.

First, Javokhir Sindarov won his game. However, Nodirbek Yakubboev and Shamsiddin Vokhidov subsequently lost their matches, and Nodirbek Abdusattorov's draw did not allow the tournament hosts to equalize the score in the matchup.

This result marked the national team's first defeat in the current tournament. Previously, the Uzbek chess players had gone undefeated, winning all 7 preceding rounds and solely leading the tournament standings.
