The Social Protection Agency commented on the exclusion of citizens from the Social Register

The National Agency for Social Protection made an official statement amid discussions on social networks related to the exclusion of citizens from the Social Register.

The agency emphasized that the mere fact of excluding a family from the register does not mean an automatic reduction in poverty, and such decisions should not be made for the sake of meeting established plans or indicators.

According to the agency, the main goal of the Social Register is to identify citizens in need, cover them with social protection, and provide the necessary assistance. At the same time, the poverty level in specific regions is determined based on the results of surveys conducted according to the World Bank methodology. Exclusion from the register should be carried out only upon actual improvement of the socio-economic situation of the family and its compliance with the established criteria.

To monitor compliance with the rules, the Social Protection Inspectorate under the agency conducts audits of families excluded from the register, examining whether the decisions made comply with the established norms. The agency stated that the main task is not the formal removal of citizens from the registry system, but the real lifting of families out of poverty and ensuring the rights of those in need to social support.
