The procedure for awarding qualification categories to guides has been established in Uzbekistan
Starting from December 1, guides in Uzbekistan will be granted amateur, specialized, and professional qualification categories on a voluntary basis. The category will be determined based on the results of a professional exam, where a score of 56–70 percent corresponds to the amateur level, 70–85 percent to the specialized level, and 86–100 percent to the professional level.

The procedure for awarding qualification categories to guides has been established in Uzbekistan
On September 4, the Government decision "On measures to further improve excursion services in the Republic of Uzbekistan" established the procedure for awarding qualification categories to guides (guide-interpreters).
According to the decision, starting from December 1, 2026, the Scientific Research Institute for Tourism Development under the Tourism Committee will be authorized to award qualification categories to guides upon their request.
Guides will be awarded amateur, specialized, professional, and "golden fund" qualification categories. Obtaining a qualification category is voluntary, and its absence does not restrict a guide's right to operate based on the qualification certificate established by law.
The qualification certificate is issued for an unlimited period. However, a person who has not operated as a guide for the last two years must retake the qualification exam.
When awarding a qualification category, the applicant's professional knowledge and practical skills, mastery of organizing and conducting excursion services, level of knowledge about excursion sites, culture of communication with tourists, knowledge of foreign languages, and adherence to professional ethics are taken into account.
According to the results of the professional exam:
The regulation also provides for the "golden fund" guide qualification category.
