At the meeting on November 2, Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the issue of fully ensuring the pension rights of citizens working abroad.
The head of state noted that Uzbek citizens are legally working in more than 40 countries, where they pay pension contributions along with taxes, but upon returning to their homeland, their work experience abroad is not taken into account.
"Their work experience abroad must be credited after returning to their homeland, and this must definitely be taken into consideration, especially when assigning pensions," the head of state said.
It was reported that bilateral agreements on the recognition of work experience and pension rights were signed this year with Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. However, such agreements do not yet exist with other countries. It was emphasized that such agreements should also be concluded with the countries where the largest number of citizens work. These include Germany, Russia, Japan, Korea, as well as the Baltic and Balkan states.
The responsible officials were instructed to conduct negotiations with their foreign counterparts and report on the specific results achieved by the end of the year.
The meeting also paid special attention to the issue of employing citizens who have returned from migration.
Since the beginning of the year, 1 million 116 thousand people have returned from migration. Among them are specialists who have gained experience in the fields of industry, construction, logistics, services, and agriculture in Germany, Great Britain, Korea, Japan, and Russia.
The President emphasized that specialists who worked in large industrial enterprises abroad and mastered modern technology and work culture present a great opportunity for enterprises in Uzbekistan, and that hokims and sector leaders must offer them decent work and utilize their knowledge and experience.
For this purpose, a platform reflecting the place of work, profession, and work experience of citizens returning from abroad will be created and connected to the system used by hokims and sector leaders.
The task was set to find suitable work for 250 thousand returned people by the end of the year, and to provide guidance and create conditions for those wishing to engage in entrepreneurship.
At the meeting, it was also announced that citizens who went to work abroad and faced problems will have the opportunity to leave a message requesting help on the "Online Mahalla" platform; a single migration center will be opened in every region of Uzbekistan; starting next year, the task of sending citizens abroad for work will be completely transferred to the most reliable private employment agencies; and an incentive of 1.5 million soums will be paid to the agency for each person placed in a high-income job.
