The construction of the National Museum of Uzbekistan is continuing at a rapid pace.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the construction process of the National Museum of Uzbekistan, which is being built in the center of Tashkent.
This major project is being implemented in accordance with the relevant decree of the President dated July 1, 2025. The head of state laid the foundation stone of this facility in August last year.
The leader of the country inspected the large-scale construction and installation works continuing on the territory of the museum, the process of building the foundations of the facilities and the engineering infrastructure. It was emphasized that the complex will be an important cultural venue representing the rich history, culture and future aspirations of our country.
The architectural appearance and essence of the museum were shaped on the basis of advanced world experience. The project was developed by the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando, and the exposition concept was prepared by the German organization Atelier Brückner.
The total area of the complex is 3.9 hectares, and the building area is more than 40 thousand square meters. The facility will consist of a 3-story main building and a 2-story underground part.
60 percent of the museum's space will be allocated to educational and scientific activities. Exhibition halls, a rich library, restoration laboratories and conference halls will be located here. Restaurants and children's playgrounds will also be organized for meaningful recreation of families and youth.
This cultural venue will be able to accommodate up to 3,500 visitors at the same time. About 10,000 historical and art exhibits will be displayed here.
Once the building is completed, it will form an integrated architectural ensemble together with the surrounding Abulkasym Madrasah, the Palace of Friendship of Peoples and the National Park.
Cooperation will be established to hold joint exhibitions with prestigious cultural institutions of the world, such as the Louvre in France, the Metropolitan in the USA and the British Museum.
