Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev opened a new campus of the Nizami National Pedagogical University in New Tashkent. The heads of state planted trees and visited the information resource center and the Nizami Ganjavi Museum at the complex, which is being built on 40 hectares and is designed to accommodate 20,000 students.

According to the presidential press service, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony of the new campus of the Nizami National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan in New Tashkent.
The heads of state planted a tree near the monument to Nizami Ganjavi. They were informed about the construction process of the university complex, educational infrastructure and plans for the development of the campus.
The construction of the campus, which is being built on an area of 40 hectares, is being carried out in two stages. It is planned to organize educational buildings for a total of 20 thousand students and student dormitories for 5 thousand places. As part of the first stage, a five-story educational building for 12 thousand places and a modern laboratory complex were built.
The heads of state got acquainted with the educational and scientific environment created on the campus, the information and resource center, and the museum exposition dedicated to the legacy of Nizami Ganjavi.
The museum reflects the life and work of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, his rich spiritual heritage, as well as the centuries-old cultural and literary ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
According to the report, the leaders noted that ties in the fields of education, science, and culture are of great importance in bringing the two fraternal peoples closer together and educating the younger generation in the spirit of common spiritual values.
Earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the master plan and construction work at the Directorate for the Construction of New Tashkent.
In the first stage of the project, which is designed for 2 million people on 20 thousand hectares, university campuses, "green" engineering infrastructure, and new transport networks will be built.
