President announced additional allowances for medical sector representatives

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with healthcare and pharmaceutical sector workers at the Koksaroy residence on October 27.

During the meeting, the head of state announced new measures for the financial incentive of sector representatives.

**Electric vehicles for competition winners**

For the first time this year, regional competitions are being held in the categories of the best doctor and nurse at the district level. The winners will be awarded 30 million UZS each.

Next year, the incentive will be enhanced further: 14 doctors who win at the regional stage will be awarded electric vehicles.

Authors of the ten best projects promoting a healthy lifestyle will be granted 200 million UZS each.

**Additional allowances**

Nurses and medical brothers who have graduated with a bachelor's degree will be paid an additional allowance of 1.5 million UZS, and those who have completed a master's degree will receive 2.5 million UZS. The allowance for narrow specialists in family medicine will be 5.5 million UZS.

Today, 15,000 doctors per year are being trained in 11 state higher education institutions. Starting next year, these students will learn to work with patients three days a week, while graduates will undergo full-time internships in medical institutions during their final academic year.

**Residency will be free of charge**

Starting from 2027, residency studies in narrow specializations at higher education institutions will be free of charge. Students will be paid a stipend of 3 million UZS.

Depending on the field, residency will last from 2 to 5 years. Training in family medicine will last 2 years, while training in surgery will take 5 years.

**Private sector enters professional development**

The private sector will be actively involved in staff professional development. Medical workers will independently choose where to undergo advanced training.

The advanced training expenses of workers in primary care and districts will be fully covered. The state will assume these costs.

As a result, 130,000 medical workers in the districts will retain 100 billion UZS of their funds every year.
