The premiere of the Uzbek-Tajik film about Jami and Navoi has been postponed again

The premiere screening of the joint Uzbek-Tajik film "The Radiance of Stars: Jami and Navoi" has been postponed once again. Previously, the film was scheduled to be presented in September, but now its premiere may take place in the second half of October in Dushanbe.

The head of "Tajikfilm," Mahmadsaid Shohiyon, stated on September 17 that there are no issues with screening the picture, work on it is ongoing, and the date will be determined in accordance with agreements between the two countries. An exact date has not yet been named. Now, the film may be shown at the "Toji Somon" International Film Festival in the second half of October.

Back in March, excerpts of "The Radiance of Stars" were shown in Tashkent during a cultural program as part of the state visit of the President of Tajikistan. At that time, "Tajikfilm" reported that the full version was planned to be presented for the 35th anniversary of the independence of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The film is dedicated to Alisher Navoi and Abdurakhman Jami. Filming took place in both countries, and in Uzbekistan, the main episodes were shot in Bukhara and in the pavilions of "Uzbekfilm" in Tashkent. In March, the creators were in the post-production stage and were preparing versions of the film in the Uzbek and Tajik languages.
